Russ and Merle Kisby were honoured to have the opportunity to set up the University of Saskatchewan Kinesiology Aboriginal Student Award in 2005. The award was set up to provide financial assistance to Aboriginal students who are pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree at the University of Saskatchewan.
When establishing the fund Russ wrote “Over the years I have experienced countless examples of the power of sport and physical activity to positively impact individuals and communities – develop character and reinforce societal values. It is based on this belief in this “power” and it’s potential that my wife and I are pleased to establish the Kinesiology Aboriginal Student Award.”
